Royal Visit Volunteers Wanted….

Unique chance to become a ‘Royal’ volunteer

A team of volunteer marshals is being created to help out when The Queen visits Blackburn Cathedral for Royal Maundy on Thursday, April 17.

Roles will include assisting guests to get safely to the Cathedral from The Mall and then to King George’s Hall and staffing barriers in partnership with the Police where well-wishers will be gathering to see The Queen along a route through the town centre.  People to give directions, hand out promotional materials and other guidance to visitors and well-wishers are also needed to represent the Council. It’s likely to be an early start (from 6.30am for some roles) and the length of time you will be needed will vary.

Full briefing/training will be given in advance with the first full briefing scheduled to take place on Friday 4th April 2014 at12.30pm with lunch provided.- Venue to be confirmed.

Lunch/refreshments will be made available to all volunteers.
