Job description We are looking for more great talent to join us next summer. If you would like to work on exciting projects whilst developing your knowledge and experience within the engineering sector, then we are interested to hear from you.Fire Safety Engineering is not a phrase that most of the population is familiar with, yet it is all around us and helps to shape the built environment within which people live, work and play every day. We are responsible in ensuring buildings are designed to best protect the people within them, through our expertise we aim to safeguard people and property without restricting architectural designs.

Our Fire Engineers have backgrounds from many diverse disciplines including metallurgy and building services engineering. Most of our Fire Engineers started as graduates, many with almost no prior knowledge of Fire Engineering and thanks to our training and mentoring programme, customised around your abilities, we are now the UK’s leading experts in Fire Engineering. We work closely with organisations such as the Society for Fire Protection (SFPE), Smoke Control Association and Institute of Fire Engineers.

•Our placement schemes are paid and typically last between 8 and 12 weeks. Many of our placement students return to us for a permanent position after graduating.

Person requirements What We Are Looking For
•A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach, as no day is the same at Hoare Lea.
•Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
•Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and to your own initiative.
Degree requirements A degree in Fire Engineering is not essential to become a Chartered Fire Engineer.•An expected 2.2 or above in an Engineering Council accredited degree or equivalent qualification (such as Building Services, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or Science based degree (such as Maths, Physics).
