Job Title: Event Assistants/Runners

Number needed: 4-6

Job description:

General assistants to help the events team with the smooth running of the overall event. Ability to assist in any job from making teas and coffees to assisting on stage and with general set up. A willingness to work on any given task will be expected. We will need event assistants/runners for the event build, the event day and the de-rig. All hours will be confirmed closer to the event.

–          Enthusiasm for the events industry

–          Good communications skills

–          Happy to work outdoors whatever the weather

Job Title: Marketing/Promotions

Number needed: 2-4

Job Description:

Assisting events staff prior to the Blackburn beat festival in marketing and promoting the event at various different outlets in the town centre. Distributing marketing collateral to the general public and spreading the word by engaging with the public whilst distributing. On the event day be based at key areas such as the train station and outskirts of the town centre to ensure those who aren’t already aware the festival is going on are steered in the right direction and told about what Blackburn Beat has to offer.

–          Ability to work within a team

Job Title: Data Capture

Number needed: 2-4

Job Description:

During the Blackburn Beat event liaise with a wide variety of attendees and engage them in answering a few questions relating to the event and the local area. At the end of the event collect the data and produce a document/chart detailing the findings for the council and event organisers to use in the planning of future events in the area.

–          Good knowledge of the local area

–          Previous data analysis experience

–          Ability to work within a team

–          Approachable, friendly and confident in asking questions and approaching the general public

–          Happy to work outdoors whatever the weather

Job Title: Stage Manager/Artist Liaison:

Number needed: 2

Job Description:

Overall management of the main stage and smaller acoustic area during the event day. Ensuring the stage is running to time and all changeovers/programming runs smoothly. Ensure all artists arrive in good time for their performance and are onstage and offstage at the right time. Keep dressing room/green room clean and tidy and ensure all artist riders are set up in advance of arrival and water is available to everyone on and offstage. Keep the stage clear of all hazards at all times and allow only those permitted access at the necessary times. General point of call for all artists on the day when in the stage/green room area.

Ideal skills:

–          Strong organizational skills

–          Confident in keeping to tight schedules

–          Previous Events experience

–          Previous work with artists/bands

–          Knowledge of how music stages run

–          Hospitality experience

–          Confident, energetic person

–          Ability to work within a team

–          Happy to work outdoors whatever the weather
