Cloud Commerce Pro Ltd is an exciting multi-channel retail platform based in Lancaster but selling to businesses all over the UK and with plans for future international expansion.  The team is headed up by Mark Hallam and Stuart Forrest who were the founders of the two largest internet businesses in the area.  (Businessserve founded 1997 and now part of Scottish Telecom) and (Customer Street founded in 2001 now part of BT).

 

Three years ago we started to develop a multi-channel commerce and warehouse management platform to be sold both to trade supply businesses and online sellers of all sizes.  During the process of development we have attracted some key customers including a very large U.S. based footwear seller, clothing retailers, food retailers, gift retailers and many more.  The market is growing substantially and we are expanding rapidly and because of this we need to expand our technical tem in Lancaster urgently.

We are looking to recruit graduate developers or paid interns who are interested in a career in software and web development.  We have several positions both full and part-time available and wonder if you could advertise our roles to your students.

CHILD ACTION NORTHWEST VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY

 

ROLE TITLE:       Reparation Volunteer

REFERENCE: RP01  

 

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

Child Action Northwest has a long history of providing Youth Justice support programmes for young people. We are looking for volunteers to work with young people aged 10-17 who have committed minor offences and are willing to make amends for their behaviour. You will support our staff working on various community projects with small groups of young people including painting, gardening, ground maintenance, woodwork, horticulture as well as many other interesting tasks.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role
  • Enthusiastic and non-judgemental
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage with young people
  • Experience and /or awareness of safeguarding children and young people and of confidentiality
  • Reliable and flexible to reflect the nature of the role
  • A willingness to attend relevant training and develop skills
  • A valid driving license and access to own transport
  • Practical skills would be advantageous but not essential as long as you are willing to get involved with projects

 

DAYS: At least one session every 2 weeks.  You will be able to volunteer more than this if required.

 

HOURS:  Mon-Fri days will be 15:00-19:00 Saturdays will be 10:00-15:00. These are approximate hours which may alter due to nature of the role and destination of project.

 

WHERE: Projects will be based across Lancashire.

 

WHEN:  We are looking to recruit as soon as possible and then the role will be on-going.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Induction, training, supervision and development opportunities will be provided.
  • An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check against the Child’s Barred List and references will be sought for this role.
  • A mileage allowance of 45p per mile and agreed out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

CHILD ACTION NORTHWEST VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY

ROLE TITLE:  Young Person’s Mentor/Befriender

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

Child Action Northwest is developing a brand new, exciting project offering a mentoring and befriending service to young people in Blackburn with Darwen. Enthusiastic volunteer mentors are required to offer 2 hours a week building positive relationships with ‘Looked After Children’ and ‘Children In Need’ with an aim of enhancing their social skills, self-esteem and confidence. Volunteers will be appropriately matched and will have the opportunity to introduce the young person/people to new local social activities and networks whilst being encouraging and offering support.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role
  • Enthusiastic and non-judgmental
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build a positive relationship with a young person
  • Experience and/or awareness of safeguarding young people
  • A willingness to attend relevant training and develop mentoring skills
  • Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of a young person
  • To commit for a minimum of 6 months from the date training has been completed
  • A valid driving licence and access to own transport
  • An awareness of local social facilities and support services
  • An awareness of the issues faced by ‘Looked After Children’ and ‘Children In Need’ would be advantageous

 

DAYS:

To be agreed with the young person on a mutually convenient basis – usually early evening or weekend

 

HOURS:

The minimum will be 2 hours per week per young person

 

WHERE:

This volunteering will take place specifically within Blackburn with Darwen

 

WHEN:

Volunteer Mentors are required now and then the opportunity will be on-going

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to work in Clitheroe and the surrounding areas.

The role of a Meter Reader is to visit customers in their homes/businesses to collect information including reading their gas and electricity meters.

The attributes of a Meter Reader are:

– computer literacy as you will be using a hand-held computer

The rate of pay is £7.22 per hour for a 25-hour week plus performance-related bonus. The required shifts are Monday-Friday 3pm-8pm.
